Thanks to South Euclid Oversight‘s Emilie DiFranco and Dave Furry for making these audio and videotapes and posting them for the public.
If you watch the video you will hear a member of the Planning Commission state that she thinks the opposition to rezoning Oakwood is “98% from outside the city”. We are not criticizing this commission member in any way.
But it is unclear what the basis is for that statement.
All members of the Planning Commission attended their public hearing. If you read the minutes from the 3/10/11 Public Hearing that the South Euclid Planning Commission you will see a listing of names.
By our count 31 South Euclid residents, 29 Cleveland Heights residents, 1 Cleveland, 1 East Cleveland and 1 Lyndhurst resident spoke at the hearing. There is no way to know if they opposed or supported the rezoning, as nothing is listed in the “minutes” other than names and addresses.
